Lewis Hamilton has warned his championship rivals that his best form is still to come as Formula 1 heads into the second half of the 2026 season.
The Ferrari driver enters the summer break second in the drivers’ standings, trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 50 points while holding a nine-point advantage over teammate George Russell. Despite claiming just one victory so far, Hamilton has remained firmly in title contention thanks to his consistency and Ferrari’s reliability.
Hamilton admitted Ferrari has been lacking straight-line speed compared to its rivals but praised the team’s efforts to improve the car.
He revealed that upgrades are on the way and expressed confidence that Ferrari will be stronger when the season resumes.
The seven-time world champion also pointed to his history of producing some of his strongest performances after the summer break, having enjoyed dominant second halves of the season during several of his title-winning campaigns.
With the 2026 regulations creating an intense development race and rivals like McLaren and Red Bull continuing to challenge at the front, Hamilton believes the championship battle is far from over.
Confident about what’s ahead, Hamilton said he expects to return from the break stronger, fitter, and mentally refreshed as he continues his pursuit of a record-breaking eighth Formula 1 world championship.
